    Seniors: The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recognizes outstanding young people who have led by example through volunteer service. If you have volunteered over the past year please feel free to go to spirit.prudential.com or nassp.org/spirit to apply. Prudential and the National Association of Principles are honored to celebrate youth volunteerism through this awards program. The student application deadline is November 10, 2020. Each high School may select one top youth volunteer for state-level honors.
    Seniors: The Horeshoe Prairie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is pleased to sponsor the DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Program. Each area high school is allowed to nominate one senior to enter the contest. Students must possess the qualities of: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Please feel free to stop by the Guidance Office before September 28, 2020 if you are interested to learn more about this opportunity.
    Seniors: If integrity, determination, and courage are attributes that describe you...you have what it takes to be a Horatio Alger Scholar. The Horatio Alger Scholarships reward students who possess the character to succeed in life. If you have critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income) and have overcome adversity while displaying integrity and perseverance, this scholarship might be of interest to you.     Seniors:  The Wells Scholarship Program at Indiana University Bloomington is one of the most prestigious and selective undergraduate awards offered by any American university. Criteria for nominating Wells Scholars include: Exceptional character and leadership skills, significant extra-curricular involvement, academic excellence - grades, class rank, and standardized test scores, and significant involvement in the community at large.     Seniors:  A quick reminder...November 1, 2020 is the academic scholarship deadline for many colleges and universities. Make sure you submit a complete application and that your transcripts have been sent to the college/university before this deadline. If you have any questions do not hesitate to sign up to see your guidance counselor. 
    Seniors: Are you pursuing a degree in mortuary sciences? The Newcomer Funeral Service group offers six (6) $3,500 scholarships and eight (8) $500 scholarships to applicants who demonstrate the core values of Excellence, Trust, Care and Growth.
