Edmentum Help

What is Edmentum?

Edmentum is an online-centered learning platform that offers personalized learning solutions for each individual student. As with any resource, it is important to know how to use it effectively.

According to their website, Edmentum is used by more than 43,000 schools, 420,000 educators, and 5.2 million students across all 50 states and in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Using Edmentum

Here's a very broad overview of how to use Edmentum:

  1. Go to Edmentum.com and click on “LOGIN” in the top right corner.
  2. Click on “Edmentum Courseware.” It is next to an orange icon.
  3. Click "Login."
  4. Enter your username and password. This is the same username and password that you use to get into your school email and Canvas accounts. The format for the username will likely be graduation year, first initial, last name. Note: Under account, everyone should use ‘hhsc’.
  5. Once you've logged in, you'll see your list of enrolled classes. To begin, click on “Select New Activity” for the course you'd like to start with.

Things to Note

For each course, there is an assignment called “Plato Student Orientation”. Plato is another name for Edmentum. This is simply an orientation on how to use this online platform. We would encourage all students to utilize that, as it has a lot of helpful information. You can refer back to that orientation at any time.

Edmentum will take you through each course. You will see units 1, 2, etc, which should be completed in order. You can choose how you to would like to proceed, as far as the number of courses you are enrolled in.

For example, one student could choose to complete all of English 12, and then start on Government. Another student may choose to do a unit of English 12, and then switch to a unit of Government. This is a personal preference, and each student has the freedom to decide what is best for them. Edementum will keep track of your progress and show you how many assignments are remaining for each course.
