Summer Meals
The Indiana SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) program is closed and will not be operating in summer 2025. All SUN Bucks cards issued in 2024 have expired and can no longer be accessed; these cards can be thrown away.
Help is still available even though the program has closed! Read below to learn more.
Finding Help
The Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder was developed by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) to help children, families, and others quickly and easily find summer meal sites near them. It is free and should work on any tablet, smartphone, or other mobile device. These resources can be filtered by on-site or to-go meals.
Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has compiled a database of school and community nutrition programs. Users can search by ZIP code or city name. The site finder can help find two types of summer meal sites: eat on-site and meals to-go. This resource provides information about the meal sponsor, including their address and the types of meal that are offered (breakfast and lunch, for instance).
In addition to these online resources, families can also use the USDA National Hunger Hotline, operated by Hunger Free America. The hotline can be reached Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. The Hunger Hotline also operates a texting service. Families can text the word 'summer' to find a summer meal site in their area.
