Tomorrow's Teachers

Future Teachers Speak Well of IUK Class

Tomorrow's Teachers, a group including Carly Hutcherson (class of 2024), Delaney Belcher (class of 2024), Mary Bowman (class of 2024), Adelyn Johnson (class of 2025), and Kennedy Cherry (class of 2025). Tomorrow's Teachers is a two-semester class from Indiana University Kokomo (IUK). In this presentation, these future teachers discuss what they learned about--including lesson planning, child development, and more--how the class impacted.

"We weren't running errands or making copies for their teachers--we were actually allowed to teach!"

One thing they noted is that because of the small class size, they were able to get to know the teacher(s). They were in class on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, but on Thursdays, they were able to spend over an hour in actual classrooms working with kids. Because of IUK's program, they weren't running errands or making copies for their teachers--they were actually allowed to teach, grade papers, input attendance, and more.
