Choose Your Path
Planning Your Future
Knowing what you want to do with your life can be difficult. Even if you have a broad idea of what you'd like to do in a career setting, figuring out the specifics can be stressful. High school students begin with the Freshman Academy; from there, they can further narrow down their interest(s).
Understanding Terms
An academy is a very broad overview of a student's chosen path. To use a metaphor, think of an academy like a college.
A cluster is more specific than an academy and is an overall subject that students find interesting. To continue with our metaphor, think of a cluster like a general category for classes.
Lastly, a pathway is even more specific. Students choose their specific pathway as a way of finalizing their interests. To complete our metaphor, think of a pathway like a college degree.
In conclusion, a college student would choose their ideal college first--a place that offers the most courses or degrees they're interested in. They would choose classes based on the degree they want to obtain. When they finish, they receive their degree and graduate.
Although we are not a college, the setup is quite similar. Our goal is for students to feel like they have received a specialized education that will help them further themselves and their career.
Freshman Academy
High school students start their journey here--the Freshman Academy! They learn more about themselves, and decide which subsequent academies, clusters, or pathways interest them the most.
