In Spanish I and II, they'll:

• Learn greetings, introductions, and polite conversation
• Talk about clothes they'd like to buy and what sort of clothing they wear in different situations
• Order from a menu
• Discuss travel preparation
• Describe past activities and events
• Talk about meals and dishes
• Express hopes and wishes

In Spanish III/IV, they'll:

• Talk about themselves and their friends
• Describe a camping trip and talk about nature
• Discuss obligations and responsibilities
• Use new adjectives to describe professions
• Speak and write using compound sentences with the subjunctive
• Make conjectures using conditional and past subjunctive
• Understand the impact of the cacao bean on history

In French I and II, students will:

• Greet and introduce themselves, and ask and spell their names
• Describe themselves and others
• Practice choosing types of drinks and role play with a waiter or waitress
• Discuss what people are doing
• Practice ordering snacks and food, as well as likes and dislikes
• Describe weather

In French III, students will:

• Read about French entertainers and write sentence responses in French
• Answer questions in French
• Respond in French to short story questions
• Practice describing people
• Practice using and recognizing home vocabulary and logic
• Focus on asking/answering what people did in class and where they used to live
