Fine & Performing Arts

In Theatre Arts, they'll:

• Use script analysis to generate ideas about a character that is believable and authentic in a theatrical work
• Practice and revise a devised or scripted theatrical work using staging conventions
• Shape character choices using given circumstances in a theatrical work
• Perform a scripted theatrical work for a specific audience
• Respond to what is seen, felt, and heard in a theatre work to develop criteria for artistic choices

In High School Band, they'll:

• Learn marching fundamentals
• Draw rhythm values
• Identify and perform various combinations of time signatures
• Get comfortable playing by themselves or with a small ensemble
• Learn a variety of solo and ensemble music

In Dance & Choreography, students will:

• Learn music and perform for football games, the homecoming parade, and other activities
• Learn movement, equipment, and marching fundamentals
• Draw from techniques, fundamental skills, and exercises to integrate into their own project
• Write and perform choreography to a song they select

In High School Choir, students will:

• Perform warm-ups with increasing ease and coordination
• Makes reasoned choices about repertoire choices, keeping in mind attributes of the ensemble and other relevant factors
• Discuss and evaluate recorded performances
• Recognize and sing in pentatonic, major, and minor scales
• Understand the legal requirements of the music industry and utilize reputable websites for music composers, publishers, and distributors
